Our Story

A community built on shared roots, language, and the warmth of Karnataka — since 2015.

Denmark Kannada Koota (DKK) was founded in 2015 by a group of Kannadiga families who wanted to preserve their cultural identity and build a sense of community while living far from home.

What began as informal gatherings has grown into a thriving organisation with over 135 members spread across Copenhagen, Aarhus, Odense, and beyond. We celebrate Karnataka's rich culture — our language Kannada, our festivals, our cuisine, and our traditions — while embracing our life in Denmark.
